FACOR observes 54th National Safety Week with a Commitment to Workplace Safety and Employee Well-Being
Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR) celebrated the 54th National Safety Week during the Monthly Safety Standdown, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a zero-harm workplace. Under the theme “Safety and Well-Being: Crucial for Viksit Bharat”, the week-long celebrations highlighted FACOR’s dedication to workplace safety and employee well-being.
The event, led by CEO Mr. Pankaj Sharma, began with a flag-hoisting ceremony, setting the tone for the week ahead. The introduction of the safety slogan “Suraksha Karein Hum Teen Ki – Swayam, Sathi, Aur Machine Ki” reinforced the importance of safety at all levels — for oneself, colleagues, and machinery. Following this, employees participated in a safety oath and commitment-signing ceremony, strengthening their dedication to the cause.
Throughout the week, several initiatives took place across FACOR’s plant, mine and township residents locations engaging employees, business partners and their families. These included various awareness programs, training sessions, and competitions aimed at promoting a strong safety culture within the organization. A key highlight was the Suraksha Sankalp Safety Stand Down, where employees and stakeholders took a collective pledge to uphold safety standards.
In line with its Reward & Recognition Program, FACOR honoured individuals who showcased exemplary safety practices. A Safety Awareness Session and Quiz Competition engaged 155 personnel, further enhancing their understanding of essential safety measures.
Additional initiatives included:
- Specialized Training Sessions on Hazard Identification, HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) Making, and Incident Investigation, attended by 55 personnel.
- A Safety Rally conducted at the plant site to spread awareness on this year’s safety theme.
- Creative Competitions such as Poster & Slogan Making, Crossword Puzzles, Word Search, Scramble, and Model Making, encouraging employees to creatively engage with safety concepts.
- A Nukkad Natak (Street Play) performed by Business Partner teams, delivering powerful safety messages through engaging storytelling.
- Various Workplace Safety Competitions designed to reinforce best safety practices among employees.
The closing ceremony organized by FACOR was graced by Chief Guest Miss Subhashree Deepali (Assistant Director, F&B), who delivered an insightful address on the importance of proactive safety measures in industrial operations. She was joined by CHSEO Mr. Krutisunder Mohapatra and COO Mr. Kamod Singh, who also shared valuable insights. The ceremony concluded with the recognition of safety champions for their exceptional contributions to maintaining a safe workplace.
