Bhubaneswar: The police was at its heels and in a filmy style chased drug peddlers in broad day light. During a raid in the Omfed stalls and pan shops in Jaydev Vihar in Bhubaneswar, the police arrested two and detained eight others. In a filmy style the Special Crime Unit of Commissionerate Police in a bid to eradicate drug smuggling in Bhubaneswar raided omfed stalls in Jaydev Vihar. The police chased the drug peddlers and arrested two people and detained eight others in this relation. The Special Crime Unit of Police along with sniffer dogs carried out the raid in the city. On the same lines, the police conducted raids at several stalls and betel nut shops. The team is also raiding the Bisweswar Basti near Apollo Hospital. Further information awaited. According to the excise officials, the shop owner used to sell each liquor-packed bottle for Rs 50.
