Bhubaneswar: In a dramatic turn of events, the family of Albert Hansda, an OAS officer from Jagatsinghpur district, has finally agreed to accept his tribal partner, who was allegedly abandoned by Hansda after he qualified for the OAS. The woman, who hails from Keonjhar, had accused Hansda of deception, physical intimacy, and forcing her to terminate a pregnancy. Police and social organizations intervened, pressuring Hansda’s family to resolve the matter amicably. Hansda parents have now agreed to accept the woman into their home, with the promise of marriage once Hansda completes his OAS training. Both families will sit together and resolve the issues, ensuring justice for the woman. “As she accepted me as her father-in-law and Albert Hansda as her husband, I am taking her to my home,” said Albert Hansda’s father. “We accepted her as our daughter-in-law. However, we cannot keep her with our son as he is undergoing training. After his training, we will get them married,” said the OAS officer’s mother. The woman, who had filed lodged a complaint at the Jagatsinghpur Sadar police station, expressed relief and happiness at the resolution. The victim woman stated, “I want a court marriage after he completes his training. Then I will move with him.” According to the woman’s allegations, Hansda had secretly married her but later abandoned her after qualifying for the Odisha Civil Service examination.
