Bhubaneswar: The Duty Officer of the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued orange and yellow warnings saying that rainfall would occur in different districts of the State within three hours. According to the weather department, while some districts would witness moderate Thunderstorm accompanied surface wind speed reaching 40 – 50 kmph, hail, lightning and light to moderate rain, some other district is expected see light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain.
Orange warning:
- Moderate Thunderstorm accompanied surface wind speed reaching 40 – 50 kmph, hail, lightning and light to moderate rain likely to affect some parts of districts of Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara within next three hours.
- Under its impact Minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, minor damage to Banana trees. Some Damage to standing crops may occur. People are advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
Yellow warning:
- Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain is very likely to affect some parts of districts of Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Balasore within next three hours.
- People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
