Kamakhyanagar: In a shocking incident, two labourers were killed after a dumper hit three labourers in Rekula Satsang centre in Dhenkanal district on Monday. The three were rushed to SCB Medical College but later died on Tuesday. The locals protested over the death of the labourers and demanded compensation for the family of the deceased. According to sources, the three labourers who were engaged in the work reportedly got hit by a dumper and then crushed under a roller. After getting hit by the dumper the two fell down and a roller coming in the direction crushed them under it. Following the death of the three labourers, irate locals blocked the roads and staged a protest. They even burnt tyres for road blockades. According to reports, the labourers were engaged in laying the pitch on the roads in the Kamakhyanagar-Dhenkanal near Rekula Satsang on Monday. The Kamakhyanagar SDPO Gyanranjan Mishra informed about the death of the three labourers on Tuesday. The identity of one of the labourers have been known while the identity of the two others are yet to be ascertained.
