KIIT University Hosts The National University Inter Zone Cricket (Women) Championship 2024-25

Bhubaneswar, 02nd April 2025 – The KIIT International Cricket Stadium witnessed a spectacular opening ceremony today as the National University Inter Zone Cricket (Women) Championship 2024-25 kicked off with great enthusiasm and fervor. Under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, and organized by KIIT – Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, the event brought together 16 talented Cricket teams from across the nation, ready to showcase their prowess on the cricket field.

A Ceremony of Inspiration and Unity

The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-Deemed to be University, graced the occasion alongside other esteemed guests. The event was marked by motivational addresses, including a warm welcome by Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT, and other esteemed guests including Shri Lalatendu Mishra, Director of Sports, KIIT-Deemed to be University. And Shri. Ajit Kumar Mishra, Retired Sr. NIS Cricket Coach, SAI.

Art of Giving (AOG) T-Shirts were distributed to the coaches and managers of all participating teams, symbolizing the spirit of this year’s  AOG theme: “NeighbourGood: Bringing Good to the Neighbourhood.” This initiative, guided by the visionary Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, aims to foster kindness, togetherness, and community bonding. The theme encourages everyone to reconnect with their communities through small acts of generosity, strengthening the fabric of society.

Prof. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, warmly welcomed all the participants, officials, and guests to the championship.
