Over 20 passengers injured, 10 of them critical as truck slams into back of bus in Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Over 20 passengers were reportedly injured while 10 of them are said to be critical as a speeding truck slammed into the back of the bus they were traveling today in Balasore district. A private bus named ‘MAMA’ bearing registration number OD 05 K 7514 was on its way to Udala from Nilagiri when a speeding truck with a registration number of OR 01 H 8345 hit it from behind near Bhalukasuni Square of the district. The impact of the mishap was so severe that the passenger bus skidded off the road and overturned. Soon, the locals rushed to the accident site and carried out the rescue operation and informed about it to the Nilagiri Police. All the injured persons were rushed to the Nilagiri Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the matter to ascertain the cause of the road accident.
