SUBARNAPUR, 8/4 —-Khordha Balangir railway line project in Odisha is progressing at a fast pace. Trains have already started running from Subarnapur via Balangir. The inspection or safety inspection of the newly constructed railway line between Boudh and Purunakatak has also been completed. Various contractors have taken up the project work to ensure timely completion of this project, which is being constructed to strengthen rail connectivity. The construction and testing of the newly constructed trial engine between Boudh and Purunakatak has been successfully completed. Out of the total length of the Khordha-Balangir railway line project, the contractor named ARSS has taken over the work of 41 km in Boudh district. Out of the 41 km, 70% of the work has been completed, while the remaining 30% is in forest land, so the work is progressing slowly. The contractor named ARSS, which is in charge of the construction, has achieved an important milestone with the completion of the 27 km distance between Purunakattak and Boudh. The contractor named ARSS is carrying out the work on a war footing between Purunakattak and Boudh, including track supply, ballast, track lining, railway electrification, building work, minor bridges, etc., on a war footing. However, the development work has been hampered due to the strike call called by the owners’ union for the past few days. The construction work in the remaining sections is now progressing at a fast pace. The project is being completed within the stipulated time frame and work is going on from both the ends simultaneously. Out of the total 301 km, the remaining 75 km railway section between Old Cuttack and Daspalla runs through dense forests and sanctuaries. This includes the difficult work of tunnel construction. It is expected that the completion of these tunnels will be a major success. If the Khordha-Balangir railway line project is operational, it is expected that transportation and economic development will be significantly strengthened. It is expected that this railway line will facilitate train travel by connecting major cities and will also contribute to regional economic growth. While the tunnel work is going on through hard ground and mountains, it is said that the project will be completed on time due to engineering challenges in the tunnel rail section. It is said that after successful inspection and approval of the Railway Safety Authority and completion of related infrastructure and passenger facilities, a decision will be taken to run train services in the newly constructed railway sections. As this project continues to progress, there is no doubt that it will increase railway connectivity and create new opportunities for economic development in Odisha. When asked about the completion of the pending railway works, ARSS Boudh District In-charge Manager Ajaya Swain said that a total of 70 percent of the work we have undertaken has been completed now. He expressed his opinion that the ARSS contruction is progressing the project work at a fast pace towards completing the incomplete work of the railway. Report – Ugrasen Karmi.
