Bhubaneswar: Private medical shops in Odisha will face strong action if administer injections to the patients, warned the State Health and Family Welfare Department. In a letter to all the Chief District Medical Officers (CDMOs), the Department said that there have been allegations that the untrained and non-practitioners at the medical shops have been administering injections to the patients. In some such cases, the patients are suffering from different kinds of side effects, in some other cases the patient die after being administered injections by those untrained and non-practitioners. In order to check such practice, the CDMOs have been asked to check the up-to-date licenses of the private medical shops. Despite inspection, if such allegations of private medical shops administering injections to the patients come to the fore, the officials can send a report to the health department based on which stricter action will be taken against those private medical shops.
