Woman arrested for impersonating police officer and extorting Rs 8.75 lakhs in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a case of forgery and loot, a woman was arrested by the Bhubaneswar cyber police for allegedly looting Rs 8.75 lakh. The woman has been identified as Sanjukta Bhuyan. She projected herself as a police official and extorted Rs 8.75 lakh from a man she befriended on social media platform Facebook. The man has been identified as Bishnu Prasad Muduli of Andharua village. She impersonated herself as a police official by using a profile picture wearing a police uniform. She borrowed money from Muduli. When he asked her the money back, she threatened her of falsely charging sexual assault cases on him. Muduli however, contacted the cyber police following which the accused woman was arrested.
