The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, has introduced a unique addition to its broadcast team, a quadruped robot dog. The announcement was made through a special video posted on the IPL’s official social media handles. In the video, former New Zealand cricketer and commentator Danny Morrison along with players of Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals unveiled the robot dog at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The footage showed MI skipper Hardik Pandya and DC captain Axar Patel playing with the quadruped robot dog. DC batter Ashutosh Sharma also shook hands with the new added member. IPL posted the video with caption on X (formerly twitter), “Hold on! We have a new IPL family member in town. It can walk, run, jump, and bring you a hearty smile. And….A whole new vision. Meet the newest member of the #TATAIPL Broadcast family.” Morrison also gave inside details about the new addition of the IPL broadcast team. The former cricketer also revealed that the robot dog will have the features of surveillance and a broadcast camera. It can also respond to voice commands. As part of promotional campaign, IPL has invited fans to suggest names for the robot. Morrison said in the video, “We want you to name our latest team member.” Fans quickly joined in, flooding the post with creative and quirky names.
