The Chitrakonda Forest Department of Malkangiri district has arrested 11 people on charges of hunting wild boars near Sarakubandh village of Ralegada panchayat in Swabhiman area and seized Axe kathi, tents and more than 100 nets, 42 kg of boar meat, 2 live cubs, 9 bikes, and a tractor from them.
According to information received from the Forest Department, forest animals have been being hunted in some villages in Ralegada panchayat for the last few days. Today, under the direction of Malkangiri DFO Sai Kiran DN, Chitrakonda Forest Ranger Balaram Nayak, Forestet Niranjan Saraka, Forester Rajesh Kumar Sethi, Forest Guard Sanjay Kumar Parida, Wildlife Para Squad jointly raided the said area.42 kg 900 grams of wild boar meat cut from them during the raid,Axe, iron cutter, tent, boar posha, 9 motorbikes, one tractor, 2 live barha cubs were seized. All the accused arrested are from Kontasaru, Limasetu, Mandapalli of Swabhiman area
The forest department has received information that the accused are from manda Palli and Sadan Metla areas.
The arrested accused are Molikrishna Udu, Santosh Barabas, Kamlesh Udu, Rambabu Barabas, Nagesh Kumuda, Nagarju Barabas, Krishna Rao Patarangi, Bomana Kumuda, Machlingam Barabas, Sanyasi Rao Barabas, Sreenubabu Khil. All the accused will be produced in court tomorrow, Chitrakonda Range Officer Balaram Nayak said. Apart from this, two wild boar cubs will be released into the forest after proper supervision, said Shri Nayak.
