Five Injured as Car Collides with Oil Tanker in Boudhagada

A tragic accident occurred on NH‑57 near Adenigada, Boudhagada district, when a car returning from Jagannath Temple in Puri collided head‑on with an oil tanker on Saturday night.According to local sources, five passengers travelling in the car were injured, with two reported to be in critical condition. The impact of the collision left the vehicle severely damaged. Residents rushed to the spot and helped rescue the victims, who were later shifted to Purunakatak Medical Centre for treatment.Eyewitnesses said the car was returning after the devotees had completed their darshan of Lord Jagannath in Puri when it suddenly rammed into the tanker coming from the opposite direction. Police have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.In a separate incident, a sand‑laden Hyva truck lost control and crashed into a house at Redi Damodar Palli village under Dharakote police limits in Ganjam district. The driver sustained injuries, while the residents narrowly escaped harm. The collision destroyed the boundary wall and damaged the front portion of the truck.
