Jharsuguda: Notorious criminal Ankit Ghosh was injured in a police encounter near Ib River OPM Ghat under the Brajrajnagar police jurisdiction in the wee hours of Monday.According to sources, Ankit opened fire upon spotting a police team. In retaliation, police fired back, hitting him in the right leg. He was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment in Jharsuguda.A firearm and live cartridges were recovered from the spot. Ankit has a long criminal history with around seven serious cases registered against him in various police stations, including charges of murder and dacoity.
