Reinforcing its zero‑tolerance stance against corruption, the Nuapada district administration has suspended Mohan Bag, Senior Revenue Assistant of Khariar Panchayat Samiti, following allegations of accepting a bribe from a contractor.A video circulating on social media reportedly showed Bag receiving money from a contractor, prompting swift administrative action. Acting on separate reports submitted by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Khariar and the Chief Development Officer‑cum‑Executive Officer of the District Zilla Parishad,Collector Madhusudan Dash ordered immediate suspension under the Odisha Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962.Considering the seriousness of the charges and the proposed departmental proceedings, Bag has been placed under suspension with his headquarters fixed at the Sinapali Tahasil Office. He has been instructed not to leave headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority.Collector Dash reiterated that the district administration maintains absolute zero tolerance toward corruption, irregularities, or misuse of official power. He emphasised that any such allegations will invite prompt and stringent action in accordance with the law.The move has been widely viewed as a strong message underscoring the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
