IB Thermal: Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC) celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at IB Thermal Power Station.
Director (Operations) Sri Anjana Ranjan Dash unfurled the National Flag and took salute of the parade. In his speech, Director Sri Dash reflected on the recent achievements of OPGC and development of future expansion project. The National Flag was also unfurled the Plant premises and IB Thermal Club premises.
The main celebration witnessed an impressive March Past by contingents of Security Staff, Scouts, Guides and civilian troupes of IB Thermal DAV Schools. The event was marked by vibrant patriotic song and dance performances by school children, who enthralled the gathering comprising OPGC employees, their families, parents, teachers and members of the local community.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to recognise and encourage excellence. Students who excelled in academics as well as extracurricular activities were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. Outstanding employees were also recognised with the Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year awards for their exemplary performance and contribution to the organisation.
The celebrations reflected the spirit of patriotism, unity and excellence that defines the OPGC family and its commitment towards contributing to the progress of the nation.
