DMK imposes age caps, fixed tenures in sweeping organisational changes

Chennai, 22/8: Aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots by giving ample opportunities to youngsters and new faces, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Saturday (August 22) announced sweeping organisational changes, introducing fixed tenures and strict age limits for those holding posts from village to district levels.Announcing the changes following recommendations from a 38-member committee that toured the state to analyse the reasons for the party’s “unexpected and shocking” defeat in the assembly elections, DMK President M K Stalin urged cadres to work hard.
