RAYAGADA, August 24, 2026: The ‘Vikshit Bharat Yuva Connect – Sports Edition’ will be organised at Women’s College, Rayagada, on August 27 as part of the nationwide youth engagement initiative being held ahead of National Sports Day.
The programme is being organised in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Rayagada, and the National Service Scheme (NSS), Women’s College, Rayagada, with a focus on youth participation, sports development and nation-building.
A major highlight of the programme will be the virtual address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the youth on August 27. According to the organisers, more than 8 lakh young participants from 1,600 locations across the country are expected to join the campaign.
Youth participants, NSS volunteers and other stakeholders attending the Rayagada programme have been requested to report at the venue by 10 am to participate in the Prime Minister’s address through virtual mode.
Following the address, a Youth Interaction Session will be organised, providing MY Bharat volunteers and young participants an opportunity to interact with local sportspersons. The session will focus on the transformation of India’s sports infrastructure over the past 12 years and the development of the country’s sports ecosystem.
Local public representatives and distinguished guests attending the programme will also interact with the youth and share their views on sports, youth development and nation-building.
The programme will conclude with a 15-minute ‘Yuva Sambad’ (Youth Dialogue), during which young participants will share their ideas, suggestions and aspirations concerning the future of Indian sports and the vision of Vikshit Bharat.
National Sports Day is observed annually on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The nationwide ‘Vikshit Bharat Yuva Connect – Sports Edition’ seeks to strengthen the connect between India’s youth and the country’s evolving sports ecosystem while encouraging greater youth participation in nation-building.
