District-Level Workshop on Forest Rights Act Held in Kantabanji.

Kantabanji, correspondence : A district-level workshop on the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, and its amended rules of 2012, was held at #GR_PLACE in Kantabanji.

 

DLC member Giriraj Singh Majhi attended the programme as the chief guest and held detailed discussions on various provisions of the Forest Rights Act and the rights guaranteed to forest-dwelling communities under the legislation.

 

The workshop focused on creating greater awareness about the legal rights of Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers and the importance of proper implementation of the Act at the grassroots level.

 

Speakers stressed that effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act is essential to protect the legitimate rights and interests of forest-dependent communities and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive due recognition of their forest rights.
