Adani-IHC project: Kalyansinghpur picked for 4 MMTPA alumina refinery

Rayagada/Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: As per gulfnews.com, Kalyansinghpur in Rayagada district has been identified as the site for a proposed 4-million-tonne-per-annum (MMTPA) alumina refinery under Odisha’s $11.5-billion integrated aluminium project involving Adani Enterprises and UAE-based International Holding Company (IHC), officials said on Thursday.

 

Sadar tehsil in Sundargarh district has been identified for a 2 MMTPA aluminium smelter.

 

The 50:50 Adani-IHC venture will be executed in two phases, with Phase I estimated at $6.9 billion and Phase II at $4.6 billion.

 

The project also includes a 4,000-MW captive power plant, including 400 MW of green energy capacity, and a 1 MMTPA downstream manufacturing park.

 

The project is expected to generate more than 53,500 jobs. Phase I construction is targeted for completion within 3–3.5 years, subject to land and regulatory clearances.
