Brahmapur,: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), a joint venture between TATA Power and Government of Odisha has received two prestigious recognitions at The Economic Times Energy Leadership Awards 2026, organised at New Delhi. The company was recognised with the Energy Company Award (Power) – Large Cap | Jury Recognition and the Best Energy Project Award – Rooftop Solar Adoption under the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) Model. The recognitions acknowledge TPSODL’s focus on operational excellence, customer-centricity, innovation
and continuous improvement, while strengthening power distribution and accelerating clean-energy adoption across the diverse and challenging geography of Southern Odisha. The Energy Leadership Awards recognise organisations and initiatives making significant contributions across the energy sector. The Energy Company Award – Large Cap | Jury Recognition recognises TPSODL’s efforts towards delivering safe, reliable and efficient power supply while maintaining a strong customer-centric approach across its predominantly rural service area. The Best Energy Project Award – Rooftop Solar Adoption under ULA Model recognises TPSODL’s innovative approach to making rooftop solar more accessible and affordable. Under the ULA model, consumers can avail a 1 kW rooftop solar system with a contribution of ₹1,875, supported by Central and State financial assistance. TPSODL facilitates consumer aggregation, material supply, installation coordination, quality assurance and lifecycle support. The initiative has gained significant momentum, with rooftop solar systems installed across Southern Odisha, supporting the region’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy.
