Patna, September 20: Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder and Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor on Sunday promised to facilitate employment for at least 10,000 educated unemployed youths in each constituency where his party’s candidates emerge victorious in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council elections.Addressing a press conference, Kishor said the responsibility of ensuring employment opportunities for at least 10,000 unemployed youths in every constituency won by the Jan Suraaj Party would rest jointly with the party, himself and the respective winning candidate.“I assure you that the announcement I made for the educated unemployed in Bankipur regarding 10,000 jobs will be fulfilled in the constituencies where voters support Jan Suraaj candidates. The responsibility of providing jobs to at least 10,000 unemployed youths from that constituency will be Jan Suraaj’s, Prashant Kishor’s and our winning candidate’s,” he said.Kishor also said the teaching community has high expectations from the Jan Suraaj Party and asserted that he would personally support teachers in their movement and legitimate demands.“The time has come to announce candidates for the elections to the eight Legislative Council seats. The teaching community has strong expectations from Jan Suraaj and me personally to stand in support of their movement and legitimate demands,” Kishor said.The Jan Suraaj Party has announced candidates for five of the eight Legislative Council constituencies going to polls. The elections will cover four teachers’ constituencies and four graduates’ constituencies. The terms of the incumbent members are scheduled to end in November.Meanwhile, RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on September 17 criticised the state government over the alleged expenditure of Rs 100 crore on lighting lamps to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.Yadav questioned the expenditure at a time when Bihar was dealing with severe flooding that had affected millions of people.“You must have noticed that over 45 lakh people in Bihar are suffering due to devastating floods; they have no food or clean water, and lives are being lost. Yet the government has made no proper arrangements for them. Instead, on the Prime Minister’s birthday, a staggering Rs 100 crore, drawn from the state’s already depleted treasury, is being squandered merely on lighting lamps,” Yadav told reporters.His remarks came as several parts of Bihar continued to grapple with flooding, with reports indicating that nearly 50 lakh people had been displaced or affected.The BJP organised the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. Several BJP leaders and chief ministers extended greetings to the Prime Minister.Opposition leaders, including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, also conveyed their wishes to Modi, praying for his good health and long life..
