Jajpur, September 21, 2026: Jindal Stainless, India’s leading stainless steel manufacturer, organised a series of awareness and outreach programmes at its Jajpur unit under the Environmental
Awareness Campaign 2026, observed from the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies to World Ozone Day. The initiatives were aligned with the campaign theme of Swachhta & Plastic Free Living, promoted under the Environmental Awareness Campaign-2026 of the State Pollution Control Board, Odisha. As part of the campaign, Jindal Stainless conducted awareness and community engagement activities to promote sustainable lifestyles, responsible waste management, and environmental conservation among employees, contractual workforce, community members, and other stakeholders. The bicycle rally, organised in collaboration with the Regional Office of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Jajpur, the District Administration, Kalinga Nagar, and neighbouring industries, brought together employees and contractual workers to promote clean air and sustainable mobility. Participants rode through designated routes, carrying messages advocating eco-friendly transportation and environmental responsibility. Furthering the campaign’s emphasis on community participation, JSL organised a Swachhata Hi Seva mass cleaning drive in Trijanga village. Employees, local residents, and stakeholders joined hands to clean public spaces and raise awareness about hygiene and waste management. The initiative highlighted the importance of collective action in maintaining clean surroundings and building healthier communities. Bringing a cultural dimension to environmental sustainability, JSL hosted Ama Khadya Ama Sanskruti, a traditional food festival showcasing Odisha’s rich culinary heritage through dishes prepared by local Self Help Groups (SHGs). The festival featured nutritious millet-based recipes and traditional Odia delicacies, while promoting plastic free practices through the use of clay pots, steel utensils, and wooden cutlery instead of single-use plastics. The event also provided a platform to support local livelihoods and encourage sustainable consumption habits. Speaking on the occasion, Environment Head, Jindal Stainless, Jajpur, Maitreyee Deb said,

Through these initiatives, we aim to create awareness, inspire behavioural change, and encourage communities to adopt practices that contribute to a cleaner, greener, and healthier future.
