Odisha Vigilance on Sunday conducted simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Shishir Kumar Das, an Assistant Executive Engineer posted at Mathili Block in Malkangiri district, over allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.The searches were carried out under a search warrant issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.A team comprising one Additional SP, five DSPs, five inspectors and other supporting staff conducted the searches simultaneously across Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Malkangiri.Six locations searched.According to Odisha Vigilance, the searches are being conducted at the following locations linked to Das:
A four-storey building at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar.
A two-storey building at Nilachal Nagar in Berhampur.
A house at Basudebpur (Gobara) in Ganjam district.An ancestral house at Gajapati Nagar in Berhampur.A rented house in Malkangiri.His office chamber at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Malkangiri.Investigation underwayVigilance officials are continuing the searches and examining documents and other material as part of the ongoing investigation.The agency is probing the allegations that Das possessed assets beyond his known sources of income. The searches are expected to help officials assess the nature and extent of the alleged disproportionate assets.Further details are awaited as the searches and investigation continue.Das was reportedly due to retire from service this month.
