Umakant Samantaray, Asst. Director of Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur has been placed under arrest by Odisha Vigilance and will be forwarded today to the Hon’ble Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur for possession of disproportionate assets.
Based on searches conducted on properties of Sri Samantaray, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 4 multi storeyed buildings (2 at BBSR & 1 at Puri), one 3-BHK flat, 30 high value plots, gold 300 gms, deposits Rs.36.78 lakhs, one 4 wheeler, etc, which he could not explain satisfactorily.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS case No.18/2026 under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Umakant Samantaray, Asst. Director of Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur.
