The authorities of Ravenshaw University in Odisha’s Kataka city have refuted the allegations that a second-year undergraduate (UG) student was subjected to ragging by his seniors in the hostel.
The varsity authorities claimed that there was a misunderstanding between a second-year UG student and some third-year students at Jagannath Hostel during an online mobile game a few days ago. The issue has been resolved through discussion, they said.
“There was a misunderstanding between the UG second-year student and some of his seniors at a hostel of the varsity during an online mobile game. The issue was solved through discussion,” said Ravenshaw University Chief Warden Purnendu Parhi on Wednesday.
There were reports that a UG second-year student of the varsity had lodged a complaint with the authorities on Tuesday alleging that he was subjected to ragging and assault by a group of seniors.
The second-year student reportedly claimed that he was harassed by some third-year students following a disagreement over an online mobile game. The varsity authorities had reportedly launched a probe after receiving the complaint.
