Lapanga, Sambalpur: As part of its community development initiatives, Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga, organised a two-day Skill, Leadership and Group Enterprise Development Programme under its women empowerment initiative, Project “Shakti”, across two locations in Rengali Block.
The initiative covered women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from Bamaloi, Lapanga, Katarbaga, Ghichamura and Jangla Gram Panchayats. Around 110 women representing 60 SHGs participated in the programme.
The sessions focused on strengthening leadership skills, confidence, group management, enterprise development and collective decision-making capabilities. The initiative aims to help women manage their groups more effectively, take up leadership roles and explore sustainable livelihood and enterprise opportunities.
Under Project Shakti, Aditya Aluminium is also promoting various women-led livelihood initiatives, including bamboo and golden grass crafts, millet-based products, pickle making and other group enterprise activities, aimed at enhancing income opportunities and promoting greater economic self-reliance among women.
The programme was conducted in two phases at two locations. The first phase was held at the Lodhapali RR Colony Community Building, covering women SHG members from Jangla and Katarbaga Gram Panchayats. The second phase was organised at Tileimal village under Bamaloi Gram Panchayat, covering women SHG members from Bamaloi, Lapanga and Ghichamura Gram Panchayats.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ravi Niwash, Head – CSR, and Mr. Manoranjan Behera, Manager, Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga.The entire training programmes was facilitated by the Resource Person Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Dash, Bhubaneswar
Mr. Seshadev Padhan, former Sarpanch of Bamaloi Gram Panchayat, was present on the occasion. Appreciating the initiative, he expressed his gratitude to Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga, for strengthening the capabilities of women SHG members and supporting their journey towards greater self-reliance and empowerment.
