Sri Mohanty had kept land documents of 20 plots concealed at a contractor’s residence at Baleshwar. His house was also searched yesterday, and records were retrieved. Some docs were buried in the earth when raids were launched. Those were also retrieved by digging the earth. Besides, Sri Mohanty was also possessing one locker as benami, which was in the name of the same contractor, and cash Rs.2.77 Lakhs and gold belonging to Sri Mohanty was recovered from the locker and seized. Arabinda Mohanty, Executive Engineer (EE), R&B Sub-Division, Betanati under R&B Division, Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj has been placed under arrest by Odisha Vigilance and will be forwarded today to the Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Baripada for possession of disproportionate assets. Based on searches conducted on properties Arabinda Mohanty, Executive Engineer, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 2 multi storeyed buildings, 1 farm house spanning 5 acres, 23 high value plots, gold approx 300 gms, total cash Rs.10,57,500/-( Cash Rs.2.50/- Lakhs unearthed from his residential house at Balianta, BBSR today), deposits Rs.69.69 lakhs, 1 four wheeler, etc, which he could not explain satisfactorily. In this connection, Baleshwar Vigilance PS case No.25/2026 under Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 has been registered against Arabinda Mohanty, Executive Engineer (EE), R&B Sub-Division. Betanati under R&B Division, Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj. Investigation continuing.
