Khordha: Police seized around two tonnes of suspected beef from a container near a forest along the Totapada-Jariput road under Khordha Sadar police limits Tuesday and detained one person for questioning.Police acted on information that suspected beef was allegedly being transported in a pickup van. After pursuing the vehicle, personnel intercepted it near the Totapada-Jariput road and conducted a search.Police said that the meat was found packed in sacks marked ‘HenPro’ and ‘Cattle Feed’ inside the container.The detained person and the vehicle have been taken into custody as the investigation continues. Police are trying to establish the source of the meat and its intended destination.
