Today i.e on 08.10.2026, a short while ago, Chandrajit Parija Programmer, O/o-DEO/DPC (District Project Coordinator), Samagra Sikhya Abhiyan (SSA), Jagatsinghpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.30,000/- from an executant for clearing his pending bills towards installation of digital black boards assigned to him in schools of Jagatsinghpur district. The accused Sri Chandrajit Parija, as a member of the procurement and technical committeeb inspects the installation works, and on his certification, the bill is released in favour of the executant. Despite several requests by the executant ( Complainant), Sri Parija was not taking steps to inspect work done by the complainant. Instead, accused Sri Parija demanded bribe Rs.30,000/- from the complt for clearing pending bills. This irked the complt, and he reported the matter to vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Sri Parija. Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Sri Parija, Programmer, while taking bribe money Rs.30,000/- from the complt today.The entire tainted bribe money of Rs.30,000/- has been recovered from exclusive possession of Sri Parija and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Sri Parija from DA angle. In this connection, Kataka Vigilance PS Case No.39 dt. dtd.07.10.2026 U/s-7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Parija, Programmer.
