Cyclone Arnab impact in Odisha: Schools shut in four districts; 8 trains cancelled, routes changed

Cyclone Arnab has disrupted school and train services in Odisha. Schools and Anganwadi centres in four districts have been closed, and eight trains have been cancelled. The railway has also curtailed the services of the Hirakhand Express as trains will operate only up to Rayagada instead of their usual destinations.Schools and Anganwadi centres in Nabarangpur and Rayagada will remain closed on on Tuesday and 28. The district collectors have announced the holidays, however, teachers and other staff have been directed to remain present.In Koraput and Ganjam, schools and Anganwadi centres will remain closed from October 27 to 29 as a precautionary measure ahead of the cyclone.Eight Trains Cancelled.The railway has cancelled eight trains due to Cyclone Arnab. The affected services include the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Night Express, Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger, Koraput-Visakhapatnam Passenger, Visakhapatnam-Koraput Intercity Express and Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger.The Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Night Express (train numbers 18515 and 18516) will remain cancelled in both directions from October 29 to November 4.The Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger (train number 58538) has been cancelled from October 27 to 30, while the return service, Koraput-Visakhapatnam Passenger (train number 58537), will remain cancelled from October 28 to 31.The Visakhapatnam-Koraput Intercity Express (train number 18512) will be cancelled on October 30. Its return service, train number 18511, will be cancelled on October 31.The Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger (train number 58501) and its return service, train number 58502, will remain cancelled from October 27 to 30.The Hirakhand Express will operate only up to Rayagada during the affected period.Train number 18447, the Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express, will be short-terminated at Rayagada from October 27 to 30.
