Haryana Police use water cannon, teargas shells to stop farmers’ march to Karnal

Karnal, 10/1 (AO Bureau) In Karnal, Haryana, the police have charged with sticks on the protesting farmers. The Kisan Samvad program was organized by the BJP in Kamila village of Karnal district. Here, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was about to talk to the farmers and explain to them the benefits of the new agricultural laws. Before reaching the venue of the CM program, hundreds of farmers opposing the agricultural laws reached there. These farmers showed black flags there and shouted slogans against CM Khattar.

During this time, the policemen stationed here and the local police tried to convince the farmers to disperse them. But the farmers did not agree. As the situation deteriorated here, the police lathi-charged the farmers and fired teargas shells.

According to the report, the police have released water cannons on the protesting farmers. There has been a lot of uproar on the occasion and the situation remains tense there.
