India vs New Zealand : Rain to play spoil sports in 2nd Test

Mumbai, 1/12: The second and last Test (IND vs NZ Mumbai Test) will be played between India and New Zealand from December 3 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, but dark clouds of crisis are hovering over it. Because it is raining in Mumbai since Wednesday i.e. this morning. Due to this both India and New Zealand teams had to cancel their practice session. Wankhede Stadium pitch has been covered due to rain.

 

The BCCI issued a statement saying, “The Indian team’s practice session on Wednesday has been canceled due to rain.” Teams of India and New Zealand reached Mumbai from Kanpur on Tuesday evening for the second Test.

 

According to the report of AccuWeather, there may be heavy rain in many areas in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon. Even in the evening, more than 50 mm of rain has been predicted. There is also a fear of flooding in many areas near the sea. At the same time, the clouds will also remain cloudy. On Thursday also there may be heavy rain till late evening.

The second Test is to start from Friday. In such a situation, the possibility of disturbing it due to rain is very high. However, it is a matter of relief that the weather is expected to remain clear on Friday. But if there is heavy rain in Mumbai for the next 2 days, then the preparations for the Test will definitely be affected.

 

Wankhede Stadium was damaged due to the storm

In the same year, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was also badly damaged due to the Toute storm in the Arabian Sea. The site screen of the stadium was completely broken. Due to the stadium being close to the sea, the surrounding areas get flooded when it rains heavily. In such a situation, there is a possibility of the weather getting stuck in the Mumbai Test.
