Chennai, 10/2 (Ao Bureau): The second Test of the four-match series between India and England will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai from 13 February (Saturday). England captain Joe Root has confirmed that James Anderson will be rested in the second Test due to the rotation policy. Along with this, he revealed that the spinner Dom Bess will also be relaxed and Moeen Ali may get a chance. Jose Butler also will not play due to the rotation policy. At the same time, Jofra Archer will not be able to play the second Test match due to injury.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement released on Thursday, “Jofra Archer will not play in the second Test match against India due to right elbow pain starting in Chennai on Saturday.” He was feeling uneasy during the first Test at this place. “This match was won by England by 227 runs. The ECB clarified that this fast bowler did not get hurt due to any previous problem. “This matter is not related to any previous injury and it is expected that the treatment will soon normalize and this pacer will be able to return to the third Test match in Ahmedabad,” the board said.
