Today on Friday, Banpur police arrested an absconding accused on the charge of raping a minor girl. Accused was identified as Pintu Pradhan, 22 .
According to IIC Jayaprakash Parida, a complaint was filed at the police station on October 17 that the accused Pintu had allegedly raped a minor girl . On the basis of the complaint, police registered a case under the section 6 of POCSO act vide Case No. 429/22, while the accused was absconded fearing arrest.
However, since then Banpur IIC under the supervision of Balugaon SDPO continued its raid to arrest Pintu and succeeded today. He has been produced before the POCSO court, BBSR told IIC Mr. Parida.
