Sambalpur, April 28- I have passion and attraction towards Sambalpuri language, literature, culture, folk art, folk traditions, food since my student days. “I am a reader, follower and believer of Sambalpuri literature,” Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said after participating in the ‘Mahanadi Sahitya Festival’ and ‘State Sambaluri Poet Conference’ in Sambalpur on Sunday.
Attending Mahanadi Sahitya Festival organized with the collaboration of several major Saraswat institutions of Sambalpur district, Shri Pradhan said, “I like to go to Parliament wearing Sambalpuri clothes.” I have a special attraction for the famous Rangwati song and the popular dance Dalkhai. Sambalpur is a silent witness of cultural thought of tens of thousands of years. This river basin was the cradle of ancient human civilization. There are historical places like Bhimmandali near Naktideul. There are many paintings on the stones of the cave here. Historians say that these are about 10 thousand years ago. But due to lack of sincerity, we cannot introduce our civilization to the world market. Sambali songs, culture, folk songs, folk dances and costumes have now attracted the attention of the world. However, a modern center will be set up in Sambalpur in the near future for its propagation. Through which the language, literature, culture, drama and food will be spread.
Language is our identity. Today, the national education policy gives special importance to all Indian languages including Sambali language. No language is a native language. The Prime Minister said that all languages are national languages. Books will be published in regional languages by NCERT. To keep India independent, the Union Minister suggested to propagate our mother tongue and local culture at the international level, out of the education system introduced by T. B. Macaulay.
Mr. Pradhan further said that the contribution of Swabhava Kavi Gangadhar Meher, Santhkavi Bhimvoi to the literature of Oriya language is unique. Their creation was timeless. During the Irish rule, efforts were made to destroy the language literature and in some places they succeeded. But now that time has changed. Dalkhai dance has reached the world. Shashwat Joshi has danced under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Nuukhai Vetghat is being held abroad. The Sambalpur region is full of potential, power and depth. The literature of Sambalpur teaches to carry forward the local way of life. Shri Pradhan said that by using this, we have to take forward the Odisha and Sambalwari language, literature and culture with the revolutionary ideas given by us through Bhim Bhoi Kita in collaboration with the major Saraswat Institute which is organizing the Mahanadi Sahitya Festival.
Similarly, in Sambalpur, participating in the ‘State Sambaluri Poets Mahasammilani’ organized on behalf of Mor Baadshar Mahak Sambalpuri, the Union Minister said that poetry is the name for presenting feelings in a simple way. Just being able to express it in the right way makes a big impact. According to him, the Sambalpur language and attitude give form to poetry. Shri Pradhan praised the comic poets in the Poets Conference saying that the poems published through humor and satire were very interesting
