Suresh Raina completes 200 sixes in IPL

New Delhi, 25/4 (AO Bureau)Suresh Raina, the famous Chennai Super Kings from ‘Mr. IPL’, completed a double century of sixes in the IPL on Sunday. Raina achieved this feat in the 19th match of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede. He had 199 sixes before this match. He has become the 7th player to hit 200 or more sixes in this prestigious T20 league.

Raina hit a brilliant six in the long on direction off the last ball of the 10th over of the innings of RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and achieved this feat. He landed the batting at number three and hit a six on his third ball of the match. He then hit the fourth ball of the 12th over of the innings of spinner Washington Sundar for a six in long-on. He also sent the last ball of the next over from Pacer Navdeep Saini for a six.

 

Harshal Patel ended Raina’s innings and got him caught by Devdutt Padikkal on the fourth ball of the 14th over of the innings. Raina scored 24 off 18 balls, in his innings he hit a four and three sixes. On the very next ball, he also caught Faf Duplecy (50) by Dan Christian. In this match, Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first. Raina has now got a total of 202 sixes in the IPL.
Talking about the maximum sixes in the league, at the top is the name of Chris Gayle of Punjab Kings, who has so far hit 354 sixes. After him, RCB’s AB de Villiers (240 sixes) is second and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma (222 sixes) is at number three. Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at number four with 217 sixes.
