Subarnapur, 8/8–Subarnapur District Binika Police Constable’s gun fired from the gun of two dead. Informed Sambalpur( NR )IG shot himself dead the deceased After the first shot that rang out, the police clarified that PSO Manoj had shot himself. In a press conference held today at the Subarnapur District Police Headquarters, Sambalpur Police IG( NR )Himanshu Lal of informed. The police investigated after accepting the testimony of 17 people. It is reported that the investigation is still ongoing. According to the information of the police, the incident took place in Binika Police Chulimal village on Tuesday, (06/8/24). Sonepur MLA Niranjan Pujari’s PSO Manoj Jhankar was drinking with his friends in the playground of Chulimal village. As he was very drunk, he took away the service revolver of his cousin, brother Seshadeb Manoj, who was with him and opened fire. Seeing this, Manoj tried to take away the gun from him. At this time, another bullet was fired and hit the head of Seshadeb . There he fell down. Seeing this, the police informed that Manoj shot himself.After the incident, Sambalpur police IG ( NR ) Himanshu Lal, Subarnapur Supdt. Of Police Yash Pratap Sreemal, Sonepur SDPO Pratap Chandra Tripathy and Binika IIC Sarangadhar Panigrahi reached the spot and started investigation.The police clarified that two live bullets were recovered from that place while seven shells were found. However, the police have clarified that no one else is involved in the incident. It is also informed that further investigation is going on. Binika PS Case No. 282/24 U/S 103 BNS R/W 25/27 Arms Act.
