LoPAR Over Bay Of Bengal Likely To Intensify Into Depression Today

Bhubaneswar: The low pressure area formed over the central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression on Monday and several districts of Odisha are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall under its influence for three days from November 27.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression is likely to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coasts during the next two days and trigger heavy rainfall there.While the system is unlikely to any significant impact on Odisha, it may lead to light to moderate rainfall in several districts of the state.Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara on November 27.Meanwhile, interior Odisha is currently experiencing more cold and there is unlikely to be any significant change in the minimum temperature in the next two days. However, the minimum (night) temperature in other parts of Odisha is likely to increase by 2°C to 4°C degrees in the next three days. Light to moderate fog will occur in some districts, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput.
