ECCE Mela for Evaluation of Child Progress Neelam Singh's Vision Shines at the ECCE Mela in Rengali Block
Sambalpur: The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Mela, organized by the Department of CSR at JSW BPSL
Sambalpur Works in partnership with the “Child In Need Institute”, was a remarkable success in Rengali
Block. Held on November 26, 2024, at the Gumkarma-B Anganwadi Center, the event saw participation
from 132 children and their parents across all eight Anganwadi Centers of the Ghichamura Gram
Panchayat.
Mrs. Neelam Singh, President of the Aakanksha Ladies Club, JSW BPSL and a dedicated advocate for
child welfare and education, played a crucial role in the event's success. She, along with other club
members, praised the initiative for its significant impact on child development. The event was further
honored by the presence of government officials, including Mr. Tikanath Bhainsal, Assistant Executive
Engineer of Rengali Block, and Mrs. Anita Seshani, Lady Supervisor of Ghichamura Gram Panchayat,
emphasizing the collaborative efforts of corporate, community, and government sectors in promoting
early childhood education.
Mrs. Singh articulated her vision for a brighter future for rural children, stating, “The future of our
nation lies in the hands of our children, and it is crucial that we invest in their early years to ensure they
receive the best possible start in life. I am incredibly proud of the success of the ECCE Mela and look
forward to more initiatives that empower our communities and uplift the lives of children.”
The ECCE Mela featured a variety of interactive activities, including games, storytelling, health and
nutrition workshops, and cultural performances, showcasing the children's progress across multiple
developmental areas. The leadership of Mr. Vishal Raj, Head of CSR at JSW BPSL, was instrumental in
advancing this initiative, highlighting the essential role of parental involvement in fostering the overall
well-being of children.
