Rajasthan: Five-year-old Aryan, pulled out of a 150-foot-deep borewell in Rajasthan’s Dausa after a 57-hour rescue operation conducted in extremely cold conditions, tragically passed away.He was shifted to the district hospital in an ambulance that featured life support systems. Doctors declared the child dead by then.“The child was brought here so that we could try and revive him if possible… we did ECG twice and the child has been declared dead.” stated Deepak Sharma, Chief Medical Officer of the Government District Hospital where Aryan was taken.Reportedly, Aryan inadvertently fell into the deep borewell on Monday, 9th of December, while playing in the field in Kalikhad village at about 3 pm. His mother saw the gruesome accident. An hour later, rescue teams began working by laying down oxygen supply pipes and deploying cameras to monitor his condition. The rescue operation became complicated due to several factors such as the water level being at about 160 feet, not being able to capture the movement of the child on camera, and safety issues relating to the rescue staff. Yet, a dedicated team of NDRF personnel, JCBs, drilling machines, and a piling rig continued digging a parallel tunnel in an attempt to reach the trapped child. After rescuing an unconscious Aryan, a green corridor was quickly established to rush him to the hospital. Sadly, he could not be saved.
