Ahmedabad: A shocking incident has come to light where a 24 year old, Bhavik Chunara, was allegedly murdered three days after marriage. He was attacked and killed on Saturday. The victim was a resident of Vatva in Ahmedabad. His wife, Payal Dattani, and her maternal cousin are accused of the murder. The woman was reportedly had a love affair with her maternal cousin.The victim, Bhavik Chunara, married Payal Dantani on December 10. According to the victim’s father, Kanhaiyalal Chunara, Payal was unhappy with her marriage. She wanted to marry her maternal cousin, Kalpesh Chunara. Unwilling to stay in the marriage, she conspired with Kalpesh to kill her husband. On the day of the murder, Bhavik left for Koteswar to bring back Payal from her paternal home. Before leaving, he confided in his father that he suspected his wife was dissatisfied with their marriage.Bhavik rode a scooter to Koteswar but never reached home. That evening, Payal’s father, Suresh Dantani, informed Kanhaiyalal that Bhavik had not arrived. Concerned about his safety, everyone tried calling Bhavik but his mobile phone was unreachable. Kanhaiyalal along with his friends started searching for him. Bhavik’s scooter was discovered nearby the Mahadev temple at Koteswar.Eyewitnesses present on the scene reported of seeing Bhavik involved in a hit and run incident. A white Innova car allegedly hit him and three individuals were seeing forcibly taking him with them. They claimed they were his relatives and were taking him to the hospital. According to the police reports, the three strangled him to death and threw his body in the Narmada canal. His body was recovered on Sunday. The three were identified as Kalpesh Chunara and his two cousins, Shailesh Chunara and Sunil Chunara.Inspector K.B. Shnkhla informed that Payal confessed to taking part in the murder. They also revealed that Payal and Kalpesh were in a relationship of four years. An FIR is registered for murder, abduction, and criminal conspiracy. Further investigations are ongoing.
