12 unconscious at private coaching centre in Rajasthan after toxic gas leak

Jaipur: More than 12 students became unconscious after a toxic gas leak at a private coaching centre in Gopalpura, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Two of them are in critical condition. They have been admitted to the ICU. The others have been admitted to a nearby hospital. The students suddenly had difficulty in breathing during the class. They later fell unconscious.According to reports, the students were in the class at the coaching centre in Gopalpura at around 7 pm when some students had difficulty in breathing and suffered head reeling. As a result, 12 students fell ill and unconscious. The smell of toxic gas from the sewer line entered the classroom. An ambulance was immediately called and the children were admitted to the hospital. Two of them were admitted to the ICU as their condition was critical.Among them there were 10 female students, one male student and a cook. However, for the past 15-20 days, there has been a foul smell coming from the coaching centre. According to the police officer, it is not known whether the smell is coming from the drain or from a gas leak or smoke from the kitchen on the roof.
