Cuttack, February 11, 2025: The MGM T20 Championship 2025 concluded in
spectacular fashion at the MGM School of Sports, Kapursingh, Cuttack, Odisha, after
four days of intense and thrilling cricket action. Organized in collaboration with
Coaching Beyond, the premier cricket institute founded by Shri Ravi Shastri, Shri
Bharat Arun, and Shri R Sridhar, the tournament successfully provided a platform for
emerging cricket talent and reinforced Odisha’s commitment to fostering the sport.
The championship witnessed participation from the MGM School of Sports and
teams from the Coaching Beyond Cricket Excellence Centre in Chennai, Hyderabad,
and Vadodara. The tournament showcased high-quality cricket, with players
displaying skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout.
The tournament was inaugurated by Shri Ravi Shastri and Shri Bharat Arun and saw
competitive matches between the participating teams.
The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, CMD, MGM
Group; Shri Venkatapathy Raju, Former International Cricketer; Shri Bikas Pradhan,
Treasurer, OCA; Shri Anjan Kumar Khuntia, Chief Curator, OCA; and Shri Prasanta
Dash, Advisor, MGM Group.
During the closing ceremony, Shri Venkatapathy Raju presented the awards and
praised the initiative, stating, “The MGM T20 Championship 2025 has set a
benchmark in talent identification and player development. With the growing interest
in cricket across India, events like these are crucial in identifying and nurturing new
talent.”
MGM School of Sports emerged as the champions, defeating Coaching Beyond
Hyderabad in an exciting final. They scored 173 runs in 20 overs and bowled out
their opponents completely, securing a decisive victory. The team also performed
exceptionally well throughout the tournament, winning three out of four matches.
The Man of the Match trophy was awarded to Jayram Gediya (MGM School of
Sports, Cuttack), while Ravi Teja (Coaching Beyond Hyderabad) was named Player
of the Tournament for his outstanding performance.
Speaking on the successful culmination of the tournament, Shri Pankaj Lochan
Mohanty, expressed his pride in hosting the event, stating, “The MGM T20
Championship 2025 was not just a tournament; it was a celebration of talent,
passion, and perseverance. We are committed to providing a strong foundation for
young cricketers and will continue to support their journey towards professional
cricket.”
The tournament also attracted the attention of scouts, coaches, and potential
sponsors, further opening doors for participants to advance in their cricketing
careers.
