Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik lashed out at the Mohan Majhi government over Budget allocation. Speaking at the Budget session of the Majhi-led government in Odisha, he said ‘Double engine has turned into double sorrows’. Pointing at the Union Budget allocation to Odisha, the BJD Supremo said that in comparison to last year the budget has not increased. The ‘double engine government’ instead of being a reason of progress for Odisha has in fact turned the wheels in the opposite direction. Odisha that had gained appreciation for its transformation in the last few years is now busy altering the names and transforming the colours, indicating at the change in the names of many schemes said LoP Naveen Patnaik. The GDP in Odisha that was known to have scored good in the times of BJD government has now reduced to 8 per cent from the earlier 10 per cent. The Open Market debt has risen to Rs 47,000 crore in Odisha. The BJP government should thank the BJD government for the robust increase in the state revenue during the earlier times. In the current budget, integrated urban roads have been planned for de-congestion. But at the same time budget allocation for the Metro project has been reduced. The Mission Shakti beneficiaries have hit the roads staging their protest as the allocation under Mission Shakti has been cut down went on LoP Naveen Patnaik. The BJP led government is busy giving slogans but these seem nothing more than shooting arrows in the air.
