Maha Shivaratri 2025: Preparations reach last stage at several Shiva shrines in Odisha

Bhubaneswar/Puri: Several Shiva shrines in Odisha have geared up for Maha Shivaratri 2025. The popular shrines will soon echo with Om Namah Shivay chants as the Maha Shivaratri is just a day ahead. In the preparatory meeting of Lingaraj temple, the time of raising the Mahadeepa atop the temple was fixed at 10.00 pm. Ahead of the Maha Shivaratri 2025, a huge influx of devotees is expected in the temple. Arrangements for the smooth darshan of devotees have been done and traffic regulation will start from today evening. CCTV cameras have been installed and the routes for the devotees have also be barricaded. Entries for the darshan of the family members of temple servitors and the VIP pass holders have been made. Akhandalamani Baba’s shrine at Aradi in Bhadrak district will also witness devotees. From priests to police all are prepared for the devotees’ welcome. The preparations have reached the last stage with district administration and the servitors at their toes. The colouring of the temple has been done. The lighting, water facilities including drinking water and drainage facilities have also reached the last stage of preparation. Similarly, Puri district administration and police has made strict traffic regulations for the Maha Shivaratri Jagara. According to the Niti Nirghat, the doors will be opened at 12.30 am. General public can seek darshan from 4.00 am to 10.00 am. Harihara Bheta will be done between 2.00 to 3.00 am. Then the Mahadeepa will be raised. As many as 11 platoons of police force has been deployed at Srimandir.
