Kullu: There has been torrential rain in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. This has led to landslides and severe flash floods, said reports on Friday. According to reports, the visuals from Kullu district have gone viral. There has been torrential rain in lower areas for the last 24 hours which has caused flash floods and landslides. Efforts are underway to retrieve damaged vehicles. The administration has issued an alert to the people living in the areas around the rivers and drains and is trying to restore electricity, traffic, and drinking water services. On recent snowfall in the Kullu District the Deputy Commissioner Kullu, Torul S Ravish told ANI, “Many link roads and main road on the left bank are blocked due to rains since last 15-16 hours. I request the public to remain where they are as the water level has also increased in rivers and nalas.” She further said, “Due to sudden landslides, water flow in the river can increase. Work is underway to restore electricity in Manali and Kullu. There is a report of 1-feet snow in Manali. Educational institutions in the district are closed today due to heavy rain. The main national highway from Jalori side is closed.”
