Balasore: Around 11 sand-laden trucks were seized while going from Bhadrak to Balasore on Saturday night. A joint operation was conducted to bust the illegal sand mining racket. According to information, illegal sand mining was carried out from Bhadrak to Balasore. Acting on a tip-off the Soro Tehsil and Balasore Mining officials conducted a raid and seized 11 sand-laden trucks. The operation was carried out under the direction of District Collector Mayur Suryabanshi. The raid was conducted early morning around 3.00 am on Sunday. The officials chased the vehicles and caught 11 of them. Efforts are underway to seize other trucks. The trucks were carrying sands from the Baitarini river and transporting to Balasore district and West Bengal.
