Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond has said that some private schools are flouting the rules and opening the schools. The closure of schools were announced keeping in view the intense heat wave in the state. “Strict action will be taken for the violation of the closure of schools, the lives of students matter a lot and that is why decision to close the schools was taken,” said School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond. As the schools were shut down in the wake of the moment, online classes will be started soon. “Some guardians and children protested in the OSEPA office for some errors in the Paradarshi portal. We have taken a note of the incident and if any error is found it will be resolved soon. The Block Education Officers (BEOs) will also be informed,” said Minister Gond. As the schools were closed much earlier than the schedule, we are likely to conduct online schools. However, the Ministry will take the final decision about it. The Department will also inform about the date of opening of schools. A team of teachers have met the School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond today. They have voiced a 6-point demand and we will soon look into the matter assured the Minister. Along with this, the Minister has given information about the increased allowance. The allowances have been hiked now. People above 80 years of age are getting increased allowance. We have decided to give Rs 3500 to those with disabilities who are more than 80 percent.
