Paradip Port Authority celebrates excellence at Annual Awards Nite 2025

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) hosted its prestigious Annual Awards Nite 2025 & Stakeholders’ meet, a dazzling event on  2nd May evening, dedicated to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievement and contributions various stakeholders who have played a pivotal role in the Port’s success over the past fiscal year. The event held at the Mayfair Convention in Bhubaneswar brought together key figures from the maritime sector including Exporters, importers, Officers, Staff unions, PPP Operators, Stevedores, Shipping agents, Railways, Customs and State Govt officials. In his address, Chairman of Paradip Port Authority, Shri P.L. Haranadh, lauded the collective efforts and dedication of the entire Paradip Port fraternity. He emphasize the port’s remarkable performance, highlighting its continued reign as the No.1 Cargo Handling Port among Indian Major ports for the 2nd consecutive year.  He proudly announced that Paradip Port had entered the exclusive 150 MMT Clock, achieving an impressive 150.41 MMT in Cargo throughput for the FY 2024-25. Despite facing market headwinds, including a decline in export demand for Iron Ore and Coking coal, PPA showcased its resilience and emerged as the top performer among all major and non-major ports on India’s eastern coast. Looking ahead, the Chairman outlined key projects that will expand the port’s capacity and capabilities, including the Western Dock project, which will enable the port to handle fully laden cape vessels by 2026, pushing its capacity beyond 300 million metric tonnes. Paradip Port also aims to achieve 100% berth mechanization by 2030, further solidifying its leadership in Port infrastructure. In a visionary move towards sustainability, the port is set to become a national hub for green hydrogen and ammonia with a dedicated berth, aligning with India’s green energy ambitions. Shri Haranadh reiterated PPA’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and collaborative growth. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, officers, staff, unions, and partners for their unwavering support and emphasize the port’s pivotal role in driving, economic growth in the region and the nation. The Awards Night 2025 was a celebration of these milestones, honoring the collective efforts of all those involved in Paradip Port’s growth saga. As Paradip Port looks to the future, its commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and innovation remains stronger than ever, ensuring it continues to set new benchmarks in the maritime sector. Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta, Dy.Chairman, PPA delivered the vote of thanks, concluding the evening on high note of camaraderie and shared vision.
